Group airport transportation across Southern California
Airport movements are the part of a group itinerary most likely to slip. We coordinate arrivals and departures at San Diego International and Los Angeles International — including the long transfers between them — around real flight times, terminals and luggage.
Two airports, two very different transfers
SAN sits minutes from downtown San Diego, which makes airport-to-hotel transfers short but the curb congested and terminal staging tightly controlled. LAX is the opposite problem: the drive matters, the terminal spread is wide, and a group arriving across several flights can be scattered across the airport.
Because those two airports fail in different ways, we plan them differently. San Diego programs focus on pickup windows and curb coordination. Los Angeles programs focus on terminal grouping and realistic drive time to the destination — especially for transfers to San Diego, Orange County or Anaheim.
Common group airport movements
Arrivals
SAN or LAX → hotel
Pickup windows built from actual arrival times, with meeting instructions your group receives in advance.
Arrivals
SAN → convention center or venue
Direct airport-to-venue runs when attendees need to be on site before checking in.
Departures
Hotel → SAN or LAX
Departure runs worked back from check-in windows, with multi-hotel pickups sequenced into one plan.
Between metros
LAX → San Diego / SAN → Orange County
Long transfers with drive time, traffic windows and rest stops planned into the schedule.
How split-flight arrivals are handled
Groups rarely land together. Coordination replaces one optimistic pickup time with a set of workable windows.
- Arrival times grouped into practical pickup windows instead of one fixed time
- Passengers consolidated where it shortens total waiting
- Terminal and curb assignment confirmed before the group lands
- Delays and early arrivals communicated back to the operator
- Separate vehicles for waves that are too far apart to combine
- Vehicle sizing based on passengers plus checked bags and equipment
Choosing between a shuttle, a coach and a premium SUV
Vehicle choice follows the movement, not a price list. A ten-person executive team arriving on one flight is usually a minibus or two premium SUVs. Ninety attendees arriving across an afternoon is a coach rotation. A single speaker landing at SAN before a keynote is a premium SUV with a coordinated pickup.
If you are not sure which fits, describe the movement in your quote request and we will recommend the mix.
Questions
Common questions
Do you coordinate both SAN and LAX?
Yes. Both airports are core to what we coordinate, including transfers between each airport and San Diego, Orange County, Anaheim and Los Angeles.
What happens if our flight is delayed?
Pickup timing is coordinated with the operator against the group's actual arrival, which is why flight details in the quote request matter.
Can you pick up from multiple terminals?
Yes. Terminal assignments are confirmed in advance and passengers are grouped so the vehicle is not chasing the group around the airport.
Can luggage and equipment be accounted for?
Yes. Vehicle sizing considers checked bags, trade show materials, displays and team equipment, not just seat count.
